Making A LITTLE HISTORY

1952-2011

After 1930, they begin to be installed in Buenos Aires the first mills handcrafted picture frames, were Polish and Italian immigrants who were engaged in very elaborate and ornate French style in general.

I name some as Kueller, Singer, Mer, and Doctorowich that were the most important workshops were also opened more guys like Big Brothers or Cires Salinas, where my father began to work for the year 1941,
that time frames were golden glitter dust and other so-called Duchy of better quality, which is burnished with agate stone and were really beautiful, preserved in time today.
This was the first stage, then began to make simpler frameworks, in small workshops by hand.

Joined companies such as Fernandez and Lanciego and from 1945 with the introduction in our country on fake gold gilding (gold leaf) joined other companies like Via Varillera and Villarroel Brothers, which began making wooden rods , initially the only one to rods or ornaments and fretwork frieze was Doctorowich.

My father's work from 1942 to 1951, Villarroel Bros. Later that year he began to work on their own, first there were three partners for the following year be the first company called Rivas and Sebastian (1952), also formed other small businesses as Battista Brothers (Doctorowich buy the factory) and then were born Malchic Palumbo Bros., Bertolini and finally Calisano Aleva SA and Garcia Ressia (buy Calisano manufacturer.)

Over the years the old firms are disappearing, leaving now only those who maintained a constancy and work behavior. Being the most important today Via Varillera (Arturo Barassotto), San Martin Wood (García Ressia)   La Sin Rival (Palumbo). And Battista Brothers

But let us continue with our history. After 1952 the company was a few years, until the 70 is created Atel Cer manufacturers, and definitely in the Calle Sto. Cabral 1158 of Ramos Mejia. Province of Buenos Aires

In 1990 we decided geared more specifically to art and by little leaving the moldings to create strong and Soul Workshop as the first workshop of the western school, where we hold up today or rather teaching courses in arts and crafts, restoration in general and traditional framed pictures.

Many students have passed and now have their shop or business engaged in art restoration and conservation of frames and tables.
In 1997 we opened the first business of sale and exhibition of antiquities and works of art in Ramos Mejia.

Following expansion in 2002 and in gratitude to the artists who joined us for the first 50 years of experience, we have opened in the Belgrano district of Buenos Aires CA

The Logo of our workshop was created by a contest of artist friends, and he won the set by Prof. Marco D'Alessandro, which represents the hands of all the artists giving its heat to friends ATEL CER

Maintaining the workshop in Sto. Cabral 1158 (1704) Ramos Mejia, Province of Buenos Aires to date

I think updated and stay current with developments, prompted me to create this site, and today I am available to show the artists - my friends showing the inside of each .-
the atelier of all.

The hope and I wish that you liked reading this little story.
